Coffee is the main agricultural crop of Honduras, no wonder why 65% of the country land is occupied with coffee farms. Over 98% of the coffee in our country is shade grown providing habitats for many migratory birds as well as for plenty species of plants and animals.

Coffee plantations have unique environments with special micrclimates who give to the bean a particular flavour. In order to identify and group those coffee growing areas with similar cup profiles and biophysical variables, Honduras has defined five coffee regions along the highlands of the country:
